On Saturday, December 9th, I participated in PRSA LA‘s Quality Time with PR Minds. The event pairs PR professionals with local non-profits with limited budgets to brainstorm ways to address their critical marketing challenges. It’s a fantastic program.
I kicked around ideas with two organizations.
Net Impact uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems throughout greater Los Angeles. We met with Brandon Smith, president for the Los Angeles Net Impact chapter, and discussed some potential tweaks to the website and strategies to engage its audience more actively on its social networks.
Pasadena Pro Musica is a choral organization. Founded in 1964, it performs distinguished, yet less frequently-performed masterpieces, for chamber chorus and orchestra and produces concerts featuring first performances of works by contemporary American composers. We met with David McArthur (president), David Spiro (board member) and Paul Webster (board member) and discussed strategies for publicizing its 50 year anniversary in 2014.
If you’re a PR professional or a non-profit in the Los Angeles area, I’d highly recommend participating in this event.
What’s your biggest marketing challenge and if you had more time or more budget, how would you address it?
